The cookies we use and why.
We use the minimum number of cookies needed to keep the platform working. No advertising cookies. No cross-site tracking. Full breakdown below.
Effective 2026-07-21
Essential cookies (always on)
Authentication and security storage is required for a signed-in account to work. Depending on the service and browser, this can use cookies or browser storage.
- Supabase authentication state. Remembers your signed-in session using storage managed by the authentication library.
- Local access mirror. The client keeps a local tier mirror for rendering while server-backed entitlement data remains authoritative for protected server actions.
Functional cookies
These remember your preferences. You can remove them through your browser, although some preferences will reset.
- Active core preference (CompTIA A+ only). Whether you last studied Core 1 or Core 2 of CompTIA A+. Not set on Network+ or Security+ accounts since those are single-exam tracks.
- Streak data. Your daily streak count and last activity timestamp.
- UI preferences. Things like the dashboard variant, density settings, or whether you have dismissed an announcement.
Analytics cookies
We do not currently install an analytics tool or analytics cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy before analytics begins and describe what the tool collects.
We do not use Google Analytics. We do not use any tool that tracks you across other websites.
Third-party cookies
A few features rely on external services that set their own cookies:
- Stripe. When you check out or manage billing, Stripe sets cookies for fraud prevention and to remember your payment context.
- Cloudflare. Our hosting and security provider may set security cookies when its traffic-protection features require them.
- Discord (if you join our server). Discord sets its own cookies on its own domain. Subject to Discord's policy.
We do not control how these third parties use their own cookies. We recommend reading each provider's cookie policy if you want full detail.
How to control cookies
Browsers let you block or delete cookies. Where to look:
- Chrome: Settings then Privacy and security then Cookies.
- Firefox: Settings then Privacy and Security.
- Safari: Settings then Privacy. Mobile Safari is under iOS Settings then Safari.
- Edge: Settings then Cookies and site permissions.
If you block essential cookies, the platform will not work for you. We will know you are logged out on every page load and the account will not function.
If you block functional cookies, you can still use the platform but preferences will not persist between sessions.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when we add or remove cookies. Material changes are announced via email and on the dashboard at least 30 days before taking effect.
