Configure manual IPv4, DNS, and a Private Wi-Fi profile
Configure a canned Windows 11 Wi-Fi adapter with approved manual IPv4 and DNS values, then mark the trusted network Private. This page teaches a job procedure. These are not exam questions, this is not a score predictor, and nothing here is taken from any certification exam.
Steps
- 1
Open Contoso-Guest in Network & internet settings. Edit IP assignment, choose Manual, turn IPv4 on, enter 192.0.2.25, 255.255.255.0, and 192.0.2.1, then save. Leave Preferred DNS empty for the separate DNS step. - 2
Edit DNS server assignment. Choose Manual, turn IPv4 on, enter 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1, then save. These are public resolvers for public names only, and the simulation never queries them. - 3
Set Network profile type to Private because the canned network is classified as trusted. Discovery and sharing still depend on services and firewall rules.
