Restore approved display resolution, scale, and refresh rate

Correct a canned Windows 11 display to the approved resolution, scale, and refresh rate. This page teaches a job procedure. These are not exam questions, this is not a score predictor, and nothing here is taken from any certification exam.

Steps

  1. 1

From Settings Home, open System > Display. For Generic PnP Monitor, set Display resolution to 1920x1080 (Recommended), then choose Keep changes before the prompt times out. A monitor running below its native resolution can look fuzzy. 2. 2

On the same Display page, set Scale to 150% (Recommended). Scaling and resolution are the settings to check when an image is too big, too small, or off-center. 3. 3

Open Advanced display, set Choose a refresh rate to 60 Hz, then choose Keep changes before the prompt times out. A refresh-rate mismatch is one possible cause of a flashing screen. What you should see
